Apply Procedures

Online

  1. Click here to complete the membership application process online. Please note: If your account will have a Joint Member, both the Primary Member and Joint Member information sections and signatures must be completed.
  2. Mail or bring completed application into a branch location with Acceptable Documents for Proof of Identity.

At a branch

  1. Download and fill out a Membership Enrollment Application or complete the application at the branch. Please note: If your account will have a Joint Member, both the Primary Member and Joint Member information sections and signatures must be completed.
  2. Bring one Primary Form of identification or proof of identity that equals a value of 6 points (see Other Acceptable Documents for Proof of Identity) for each member.
  3. A check or payment for at least the minimum deposit of $5.00 plus payment for any checks you would like order.

By mail

  1. Download and fill out a Membership Enrollment Application. Please note: If your account will have a Joint Member, both the Primary Member and Joint Member information sections and signatures must be completed. Your signature(s) must be notarized.
  2. Enclose a copy of one Primary Form of identification or proof of identity that equals a value of 6 points (see Other Acceptable Documents for Proof of Identity) for each member.
  3. Enclose a check or money order for at least the minimum deposit of $5.00 to open your account plus payment for any checks you would like ordered.
  4. Mail the information to: The Summit Federal Credit Union, Canal Ponds Business Park,100 Marina Drive, Rochester, New York 14626, Attention: Member Services

Primary forms of identification

  • Valid Driver's License
  • Valid Passport
  • Proof of identity that equals a value of 6 points

Procedures for opening a new account

Federal law requires all financial institutions to obtain, verify and record information that identifies each person who establishes a new account, so when you open a new membership, we will ask for your name, address, date of birth and other information that will allow us to identify you. We will also ask to see your driver's license or other identifying documents.
