Overdraft Protection Options
When it comes to overdraft protection, The Summit stands behind you. If a transaction exceeds the available funds in your checking account, we take action to ensure your payments and purchases are successful.
FEDERALLY INSURED BY NCUA. Membership eligibility required. Offer limited to members that have not had a Checking account or Summit Visa® Debit Card in the past 120 days or have not been paid a Checking account or Summit Visa® Debit Card promotional bonus in the past 36 months. Limited to 1 cardholder per account (primary cardholder). To receive the one-time $150 bonus you must open a Checking account, order a new Summit Visa® debit card by 9/15/25 and complete 40 point-of-sale transactions posted to your account by 11/15/25. Please allow 4-6 weeks after meeting qualifications for The Summit to deposit your $150 bonus into your checking account. You must keep your checking account open and in good standing through 2/28/26. The $150 bonus will be reported, and you will receive IRS Form 1099-INT. - While your card is in temporary “off” mode most new purchases and ATM transactions will not be processed. Preauthorized transactions and authorized reoccurring transactions may be approved while the card is in “off” mode. You remain responsible for monitoring all transactions.
- OTP for online payment is required only at merchant websites that support the 3DS Secure (3DS) authentication protocols/ Entering OTP provides extra security for online transactions. Transactions originating with a 3DS Secure merchant pass through a risk-assessment process set up by The Summit. If the authorization is considered higher risk or out of normal activity, OTP will be generated for validation the authentication. You can review the 3DS OTP disclosure here.
