The Summit Announces 2-Year, $10,000 Partnership with MCC Athletics

The Summit today announced a two-year, $10,000 commitment to Monroe Community College Athletics.

The partnership will include educational opportunities in the form of informative personal finance sessions for students and graduates entering the workplace by The Summit’s Senior Business Relations Specialist.  An MCC page on The Summit’s website designed exclusively for MCC/Summit members will be launched and will feature articles and information relevant to staff and students.  A “Summit Corner” on the MCC Athletic webpage will link directly to this resource. The Summit is also delighted to announce the launch of a specially designed debit card displaying the school colors and emblem which will be unveiled and available to staff, students, alumni, and the public during the Spring Semester. The Summit looks forward to having an increased presence at MCC Athletics events as this partnership develops.

Since its inception in 1962, the Monroe Community College Athletics Program has developed a rich and storied tradition of success as a member of the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA). The program has proudly been a major participant on the local, regional, and national levels. The history of Monroe Community College Athletics is one that is decorated in numerous regional, district, and national championships. Throughout the years, the program has also produced many local, regional, and national leaders. The philosophy of the MCC Athletics Program is to provide opportunities for student-athletes to strengthen the foundational building blocks of learning, in the classroom and through athletic competition. To this point, the college has always been on the cutting edge in providing its students the best facilities to compete in, the best coaches to coach them, and the best teachers to instruct them.

The Summit’s Vice President of Marketing and Community Engagement, Twanda Christensen said, “We are delighted to partner with MCC Athletics and bring our financial expertise and commitment to our community to the table. We look forward to working together with Athletic staff and students to ‘raise the game’ of both The Summit and the Tribunes!”

“We are thrilled to welcome The Summit to the MCC family and appreciate their commitment to our student-athletes and the MCC athletic program,” commented Aaron Bouyea, MCC’s Director of Athletics. “There is a natural fit here that makes this partnership all the more special.”
