Central New York’s biggest food and music festival welcomed an estimated 200,000 people over two days. While the festival welcomed large crowds, it also raised over $30,000 for local charities
Two checks were presented on Tuesday, September 29th, within Clinton Square where the festival was held. Checks for over $15,000 each were presented to Feed Our Vets and Honor Flight Syracuse. The money collected for the two charities was a joint effort between two Taste of Syracuse sponsors: The Summit and Tops Friendly Markets.
“One of the reasons that we continue to support Taste of Syracuse is the opportunity to shine a light on those non-profits doing great work in the region,” said Twanda Christensen, Vice President of Marketing and Community Engagement for The Summit. “We were excited to mark America’s 250th Birthday by supporting these two organizations that do so much for veterans and their families in Central New York.”

The generosity of the Taste of Syracuse community makes a meaningful difference, and we’re grateful to everyone who helped make this year’s event such a success.”

The Summit has been the title sponsor of this event since 2017 and has helped to raise nearly $180,000 for Central New York non-profit organizations including ARC of Onondaga; ClearPath for Veterans; David’s Refuge, Elmcrest Children’s Center; Griffin’s Guardians; Make-A-Wish Central New York; Paige’s Butterfly Run; PEACE, Inc. Big Brothers Big Sisters of Onondaga County; Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central New York; and Vera House.
