To celebrate their 15th anniversary, Alloya Corporate Federal Credit Union established the Hall of Champions to recognize individuals who have helped shape the credit union movement at the national level.
The Summit is proud to announce that its Chief Financial Officer, Leanne McGuinness, has been named to Alloya Corporate Federal Credit Union’s inaugural “Hall of Champions.”
Alloya is a leading provider of cooperative financial services to over 1,200 member credit unions and credit union entities nationally. Together, the member-owners of Alloya wield aggregated power to access the best products and services in the industry – including liquidity, investments, digital payments, and member solutions – to give each credit union a strategic advantage in the marketplace.
To mark their 15th anniversary, Alloya unveiled the “Hall of Champions” during its annual Credit Union Leadership Symposium held earlier this month. Created to recognize individuals whose leadership and service have helped shape Alloya, McGuinness was one of eight inductees chosen for their exceptional dedication to the credit union moment.
“We’re incredibly proud to see Leanne McGuinness included on this prestigious list of industry leaders,” commented Laurie Baker, President & CEO of The Summit. “Her financial leadership, strategic insight, and commitment to our organization and the credit union movement as a whole, have made a meaningful impact on our continued growth and success. We congratulate her on this outstanding achievement.”
Leanne McGuinness joined The Summit in 1991 as Accounting and Collection Manager, Controller, Director of Finance and Lending, and Vice President of Finance, and has been the Chief Financial Officer at The Summit since 2001. Prior to joining The Summit, McGuinness worked as an auditor for Price Waterhouse Cooper. She is a licensed CPA and holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from SUNY Oswego.
During her tenure at The Summit, McGuinness has managed the growth of assets from $80 million to $1.5 billion. Under her leadership, The Summit has achieved better than peer average ratios for loan to share, delinquency levels, and loan losses. She led The Summit’s implementation of mortgage loan sales to the secondary market, while retaining services to drive member loyalty and non-interest income, and has been integral in the successful launch of The Summit’s Business Lending Program. McGuinness also was part of the team ushering The Summit through eight mergers.
McGuinness is a longstanding volunteer for the credit union industry and has served on the board of Alloya since its launch in 2011, including three years as Chair. She has also contributed her time and expertise to the National Association of Federal Credit Unions. McGuinness volunteers in the community, including having served on the Board (including a term as Board Chair) for Serenity House of Victor, which provides free end-of-life care for those with terminal illnesses.
In 2016, McGuinness was honored by the Rochester Business Journal as Financial Executive of the Year.
