Wine & Chocolate Festival to Benefit Rochester Chapter of Sleep in Heavenly Peace

January 22, 2024

The Summit will sponsor the Rochester Wine and Chocolate Festival on Saturday, March 9, at the Joseph Floreano Rochester Riverside Convention Center. The festival features numerous regional wine, spirits, cider, and chocolate vendors, as well as other local businesses. Two sessions of the festival will be offered: an early session from 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm, and a later session from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm.

The Summit-sponsored Wine & Chocolate Festivals in Rochester are highly rated and always anticipated. Each event also raises funds for a local beneficiary. This year proceeds from the Rochester Wine & Chocolate festival will benefit the Rochester Chapter of Sleep in Heavenly Peace. Sleep in Heavenly Peace builds beds for children who don’t have a comfortable place to lay their heads. To date, the Rochester Chapter has built nearly 900 beds for area children.

Festival attendees will be invited to make a cash or mobile donation and spin the wheel for prizes at The Summit’s booth. All donations collected will go to the Rochester Chapter of Sleep in Heavenly Peace. Additionally, $1 from the sale of each bottle of wine at the festival will go to that organization.

“The Summit is so excited to once again be the title sponsor of this fantastic event,” said Twanda Christensen, Vice President of Marketing and Community Engagement for The Summit Federal Credit Union. “This fun festival celebrates the local craft beverage and food industry while allowing us to provide meaningful support to Sleep in Heavenly Peace.”

“Sleep in Heavenly Peace is so grateful to The Summit Federal Credit Union for choosing us as its charity beneficiary for the 2024 Rochester Chocolate and Wine Festival,” said Donna Ritchie, Co-President of the Rochester Chapter of Sleep in Heavenly Peace. “This incredible donation will help us build more beds to ensure that no kid sleeps on the floor in our town.”

The Summit’s Rochester branches and website will offer an opportunity to win a pass for early admission to one of the festival’s sessions. Details about the contest, which runs from February 1 to March 1, can be found at www.summitfcu.org.  Winners will be announced on March 4.
