In the Community

What we believe

Our staff and Management Team contribute countless community service hours at various events and charitable organizations. In addition, we volunteer on Boards of Directors, committees and in other leadership positions. We are very proud to support hundreds of local charities through in-kind donations, event sponsorships and participation in fundraising activities.

Giving back to the communities we serve

Day of Caring

We had a blast teaming up with United Way of Greater Rochester to clean up the grounds at Heritage Christian Services for Day of Caring. What a difference a day makes!

Champion of HOPE Award

Congratulations to our very own Laurie Baker, Senior Vice President & Chief Operating Officer, Winner of the Villa's 2017 Champion of HOPE Award! Laurie served on the Villa of Hope Board from 2004 - 2016, and as Board Chair from 2011-2013. Under her dedicated leadership, the Villa saw many changes, including its re-branding in 2014. During her Board service, she was a member of the nominating committee, the executive committee, and also was on the interview team for the CEO hire. Laurie was honored Saturday night at the Gala for making a significant impact in the lives of youth and their families in the Rochester community while helping to advance the Villa’s mission and values.

Food Bank of Western New York

Keith Parwulski, our Director of Regional Branch Services in Buffalo New York, is a longtime Food Bank supporter. Keith serves on the Resource Development Committee for the Food Bank and runs the “plate of thanks” campaign each year. Through this campaign, The Summit helped to provide over 10,000 meals to local families through the Food Bank of WNY in 2016. The Summit's Buffalo branches continue to help this initiative and have provided 4,272 meals to local families so far this April.

Upcoming Events

Guitars & Stars

The Summit is excited to be the title sponsor of the WBEE Spring Guitars and Stars show at the Finger Lakes Gaming & Racetrack 5/31.

The event benefits Rochester’s Ronald McDonald House, which provides a home for families while their children receive healthcare in our community. As a locally grown and locally committed credit union, we are proud to support this organization and they work they do to keep families strong.

Tickets are available online and at all Rochester-area Wegmans locations. Hope to see you there. Yee-Haa!

Come join us for a taste of Central New York’s best food and music . We love our communities and are excited that this year, The Taste of Syracuse will have two signature days: “I Love Orange” (Friday) and “Pink Power” (Saturday).

Each day of the festival, The Summit will be hosting a photo contest! All you have to do is stop by our tent and pose with our festival-themed props.
