In the Community

What we believe

Our staff and Management Team contribute countless community service hours at various events and charitable organizations. In addition, we volunteer on Boards of Directors, committees and in other leadership positions. We are very proud to support hundreds of local charities through in-kind donations, event sponsorships and participation in fundraising activities.

Giving back to the communities we serve

The Summit Vendor of the Month Award

The Summit Vendor of the Month Award is a partnership between The Summit and The City of Rochester Public Market. From May through October, The Summit and The market honors one vendor per month who, like The Summit, is locally-grown, offers superior service and demonstrates a commitment to the community. The Market’s monthly healthy tasting, also sponsored by The Summit, incorporates products found at the Vendor of the Month’s stand.

Day of Caring

We had a blast teaming up with United Way of Greater Rochester to clean up the grounds at Heritage Christian Services for Day of Caring. What a difference a day makes!

Champion of HOPE Award

Congratulations to our very own Laurie Baker, Senior Vice President & Chief Operating Officer, Winner of the Villa's 2017 Champion of HOPE Award! Laurie served on the Villa of Hope Board from 2004 - 2016, and as Board Chair from 2011-2013. Under her dedicated leadership, the Villa saw many changes, including its re-branding in 2014. During her Board service, she was a member of the nominating committee, the executive committee, and also was on the interview team for the CEO hire. Laurie was honored Saturday night at the Gala for making a significant impact in the lives of youth and their families in the Rochester community while helping to advance the Villa’s mission and values.

Food Bank of Western New York

Keith Parwulski, our Director of Regional Branch Services in Buffalo New York, is a longtime Food Bank supporter. Keith serves on the Resource Development Committee for the Food Bank and runs the “plate of thanks” campaign each year. Through this campaign, The Summit helped to provide over 10,000 meals to local families through the Food Bank of WNY in 2016. The Summit's Buffalo branches continue to help this initiative and have provided 4,272 meals to local families so far this April.

The Danielle Downey Credit Union Classic

Rochester’s favorite professional golf tournament of the summer is returning to Brook-Lea Country Club July 17–23!  Come cheer on today’s Symetra Tour stars and LPGA stars of tomorrow during the Danielle Downey Credit Union Classic!

We are excited to be partnering with other credit unions in support of the weeklong tournament—not only because it’s a fantastic event, but also because it’s a great example of the cooperative spirit of credit unions at work!  We’ve banded together with other credit unions in the area to sponsor and promote the tournament to ensure that it is a great one for credit unions and the Rochester community as a whole.

We’re also excited to offer our members the best deal on tickets to the tournament!  Tickets are available at the incredibly low prices listed in the grid below—ONLY at local credit unions!  Visit any of our branches to purchase tickets today!

Do you love watching golf?  Sign up to volunteer, and you could get a front-row seat at the tournament!  Learn more about volunteer opportunities and sign up at danielledowneyclassic.com.

We hope to see you there!
