Introducing IDCheck

If you bank at one of our Shared Branch locations and have an out-of-state issued ID, you may be required to obtain a one-time passcode in order to verify your identity. This additional layer of protection, called IDCheck, will be accessible using a QR code and will be required for withdrawal requests when an out-of-state ID is presented.

Here are the steps to setting up IDCheck:

1. Get started – Visit verify.coop.org on your computer or mobile device.
2. Specify credit union – Provide information about your home credit union. You can enter information in one, some, or all fields, or skip this step by tapping Skip Step near the bottom of the screen. Search Summit FCU, The (NY) to find The Summit in the dropdown.
3. Enter Information – Provide your member account number and last 4 digits of your SSN.
4. Take picture of ID and a selfie – Take a picture of the front and back of your government-issued ID, and then take a selfie. Socure is a partner that supports IDCheck. The selfie provides an additional layer of fraud protection because IDCheck compares it to the picture on the ID.
5. Receive access code – IDCheck validates you as a member and provides an access code. You will then give the code to frontline staff, who completes the authentication process and performs the transaction for the member.
