Forbes Names The Summit One of the Best Credit Unions in U.S.

Forbes has named The Summit Federal Credit Union as one of the nation’s best in-state credit unions.
The honor is based on a survey of current and former members who assessed their credit unions on trust, terms & conditions, branch services, digital services and financial advice. Survey-takers also cited overall satisfaction with a credit union. Only 3% of the 5,000 credit unions nationwide made the list.
Forbes is a respected media and research organization focused mainly on business and finance.
The Summit Earns Highest Rating from Bauer Financial

The Summit Federal Credit Union has earned a 5-star rating from Bauer Financial, Inc., an independent organization that analyzes and reports on U.S. financial institutions. The 5-star rating is given to those banks and credit unions that exhibit excellent strength overall. It is the highest rating possible.

The Summit Board of Directors Appoints Chair
August 20, 2020
Chris Modesti has been appointed Chair of the
Board of Directors for The Summit Federal Credit Union. A member of the Board since 2013, he also served on the Supervisory Committee for over 4 years, including as Chair.
Since 2019, Chris has been the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Sweeteners Plus, LLC, a manufacturer and distributor of sugar products in Lakeville, New York. Formerly President of Biomaxx, Inc., he remains on the Board there, and is also a Board Director at Highland Hospital and the Rochester Chapter of Financial Executives International, as well as a Trustee of the University of Rochester Newman Interfaith Chapel.
Chris holds a BS degree in Business Management and Marketing from Cornell University and an MBA from the William E. Simon Graduate School of Business Administration at the University of Rochester.

New ATMs Deliver Enhanced Convenience and Security

All locations of The Summit Federal Credit Union will install updated ATMs at various times in 2020. These new ATMs bring a new level of convenience to users while using the latest safety features for personal safety and account security.
The machines have a 19-inch display for easy viewing as well as a more intuitive interface, with Actiview™ technology for secure data input and quicker navigation. The machines also take advantage of the financial industry’s leading data security enhancements, including upgraded physical security technology and cameras, plus the industry’s first anti-skimming ActivEdge™ card reader. No envelopes are needed to deposit cash or checks.
Each machine upgrade will require minimal downtime. The ATMs at the branches listed below are scheduled for replacement soon. Dates are subject to change.
Henrietta: March 26
Main/Winton: March 31
Penfield: April 2
Delaware/Hertel: April 4

The Summit Announces New CEO

We are excited to announce that starting February 1, 2020, Laurie Baker will assume the role of President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of The Summit Federal Credit Union. She will replace Mike Vadala, our longstanding and beloved President and CEO who is retiring after 35 years at The Summit, 25 as CEO. Laurie is currently The Summit’s Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. Congratulations, Laurie!

If you have been affected by the layoffs, you may ask for a one- to three-month loan extension. The Summit and East High School Announce Scholarship

The Summit Federal Credit Union and East High School are partnering to offer the “Locally Committed” Scholarship. $500 will be awarded to each of two graduating East High School seniors who have made an exceptional commitment to the school and Rochester community. Scholarship applications are available
