The Summit is delighted to be a sponsor of the 22nd Annual Brockway Truck Show with events held at venues in and around Cortland, August 11th – 14th. Thousands of people of all ages are expected to take part in the weekend-long event which has been a popular destination for truck aficionados and regional history fans for two decades.

The Brockway Motor Company operated in Cortland from 1912 to 1977. Founded as Brockway Carriage Work in 1875, the company manufactured custom heavy-duty trucks. Brockway trucks boast a hood ornament of a husky dog with a harness, giving Cortland the nickname “Huskie Town, USA.”

Events for the weekend include events for the entire family including a spectacular fireworks display on Friday, August 12th which The Summit has sponsored since 2017.

“Without the valued financial support from The Summit Federal Credit Union to our annual Brockway Truck Show, we would not be able to provide the quality of truck show that we do to our Brockway members and our local community,” commented Shirley Randolph, co-chair of the Brockway Truck Show Planning Committee and Treasurer of the Brockway Truck Preservation Association.   “Thank you to The Summit.”

The Summit’s nearest branch at 877 Route 13 in the town of Cortland will be in the center of all of the activity. “The Brockway Truck show is one of the most anticipated events in our area,” said Patti Russell, Manager of The Summit’s Cortland Branch. “Supporting the communities that we serve is one of the missions of The Summit and events such as these, which celebrate our community, are very special for us as a company. This event has something for everyone – just like The Summit!”
