Mobile Check Deposit

Snap, send, done. Depositing checks is as easy as that.

You don’t need to wait in line the next time you want to deposit a check. Thanks to Mobile Check Deposit, putting money in your account is more convenient than ever. Simply use your smartphone and The Summit Mobile Banking app to snap, submit, and deposit your checks electronically.


  • Deposit checks right from your iPhone®, iPod Touch®, iPad®, or Android® device1.

What You Will Need:

  • Your Summit Online Access username and password or account number and temporary Personal Identification Number (PIN) for initial Online Access setup.
  • The Summit FCU Mobile App (Compatible with Apple iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad and Android devices).

Log in to your account

Find “Check Deposit” on the “More” tab here and accept the agreement to continue.

Select More in bottom right corner. Then select Check Deposit.
Terms & Conditions

Align your check in the photo frame provided. Repeat for the back of the check.

Choose Account and enter dollar amount

When both front and back images are captured and legible, click “deposit.” Hint: Set up deposit notifications for the account to be notified when the check is posted.

Depositing a Mobile Check Deposit through our Mobile Banking App is easy!


  1. Login Information: From The Summit FCU Mobile App, enter your username and password (or account number and temporary PIN for initial Online Access setup).
  2. Deposit Checks: To deposit checks, select “More” in bottom right corner, then “Check Deposit” at the top of the screen.
  3. Terms and Conditions: To enroll in the service, select the box indicating you accept all Terms and Conditions. If you do not accept the Terms and Conditions you will not be able to register for Mobile Check Deposit.
  4. Choose Account: Select which account you would like to deposit the check into.
  5. Enter Amount: Enter the amount of the check you are depositing.
  6. Take Picture: Take a picture of the front of the check and the back of the check when prompted. Note: Before you take a picture, you are required to sign the back of your check with your signature and write “For Mobile Deposit Only.” underneath your signature. Please note: checking the Mobile Deposit box on the back of the check is not sufficient for deposit and the deposit may be rejected.
  7. Review the Picture: Make sure all edges show and the amount is visible. Then choose to retake or keep the picture.
  8. Verify: Confirm that all deposit information is correct. Select “Deposit” to complete the transaction. You will receive a “Success” message confirming your deposit.
  9. Keep Your Check: Please do not discard or destroy your check after it is deposited, in the event your deposit cannot be processed.

Helpful Hints

  • Be sure to capture all four corners of the check in the image.
  • Place the check on a flat, black surface. You’ll want the check image to be centered and inside the guidance lines.
  • The quality and color of the ink may impact whether the image is accepted. If the ink is too light or doesn’t contrast with the check background, you may need to deposit it at a branch.
  • Be sure to properly endorse the back of the check with your signature and with the words “For Mobile Deposit.” 
  • Getting a clear image of your check is the key to making a successful mobile deposit.

Eligibility Requirements

You are eligible for the Service if:

  • You have a smart phone or tablet with an approved app.
  • Your Courtesy Pay and/or Mobile Check Deposit privileges have not been revoked.
  • You have a combined share account balance greater than negative $500.
  • You are not past 30 days delinquent on any Credit Union loan or obligation.
